An Open Letter To Those Who Chose To Stay

Thank you for making me a priority when I was doubtful about doing the same. Thank you for wishing nothing but the best for me. Thank you for laughing with me till the droplets of joy raced down my eyes. Thank you for consoling me when the floodgates to my soul would pry open and despondence would engulf me. Thank you for being a guiding light in the darkness. Thank you for being a fragrant flower on the sunny days. Thank you for choosing to stay, thank you for making me a priority when I was doubtful about doing the same.

Thank you for believing in me when I almost believed that I wouldn’t make it. Thank you for seeing the best in me when I couldn’t. Thank you for enriching my mind and soul. Thank you for being a constant source of motivation and positivity. Thank you for lending me a helping hand when I thought I would fall off the cliff. Thank you for listening to me during the times when I felt that not a pair of empathetic ears exist. Thank you for making me a better person every day, thank you for believing in me when I almost believed that I wouldn’t make it.

Thank you for showing me the brightest (and darkest) in me. Thank you for making me aware of the power to let go. Thank you for never judging me. Thank you for always saying what I needed to hear. Thank you for helping me shake off the dust and walk on with my head held high. Thank you for being my biggest cheerleader. Thank you for being a trustworthy critic. People are a sum total of those they meet (which means I am pretty amazing), thank you for coming into my life and opening doors that I never even knew existed. Thank you for making me ME.

Always,

Priyanka Lamba
