As we inch towards adulthood we are increasingly told to get a grip on our lives. The society conditions us to blindly accomplish the goals set for each age group. Landing up a secure nine to five job at 21, getting “settled” at 25, having kids at 27 and the list goes on till the time we breathe our last.
But after all the rule following and “success” that may or may not follow, are we truly happy? Are we living the best of our lives? Are we living in the present without constantly fretting about the future and mulling over the past? Are we learning and growing each day? The answer to most of these questions will not be in the affirmative.
The 20s is a time when we struggle to find ourselves, trying to resolve the inner conflicts and make sense of the most confusing conundrum — life. It is absolutely fine to not have everything under control, not all days are same and that’s where the beauty lies. Focus on learning and follow your passion. Remember lost data can be retrieved but time once gone can’t be. Failure and success are a part of this cycle and will repeat till the time you lose count.
There is nothing wrong in chasing your goals but in all this chaos it is important to not forget yourself. There is no greater happiness than being attuned to your feelings and living your best life, time is by your side (and always will be). Everything will happen at its own pace, don’t beat yourself over something that isn’t even your thing. At the end of the day nothing is more important than being at peace and finding yourself at the end of your journey.
